The
Energy of Continuity

For Bosco Sodi, the act of creation is a dialogue between artist and material – an intuitive process shaped by nature, chance, and time. In this video, Sodi reflects on the essence of his practice, describing his work as a means of therapy for himself and a space of contemplation for the viewer. In his current exhibition MON PÈRE at König Galerie, the beauty of simpleness, the energy of continuity, and the cracks that emerge in his materials invite viewers to think about the meaning of life and reconnect with its essence.

Bosco Sodi (b. 1970, Mexico City) is known for his richly textured paintings and sculptures that embrace imperfection and spontaneity. Rooted in the natural world, his works embody the material’s own agency, from volcanic rock installations to pigment-infused surfaces that evolve with time. Sodi’s practice extends beyond the studio, fostering artistic exchange through initiatives like Casa Wabi.

Focusing on material exploration, creative gesture, and the spiritual connection between the artist and his work, Sodi seeks to transcend conceptual barriers. The work itself becomes a memory and a relic, symbolizing the artist’s conversation with the raw material that brought the painting into creation. As he puts it: “Explanations about my w...
