"In my opinion, the interesting thing about being an artist is
that you don't get to finish work at the end of the day"

For Henning Strassburger, the Nave of St. Agnes at KÖNIG GALERIE offered his work the space to breathe and resonate. In this video, the artist reflects on the connections within his exhibition KÖPFE – spanning a decade of painting to the Alphakenny sculptures – linking past and present in a dialogue both personal and monumental.
Henning Strassburger (b. 1983, Meissen, Germany) explores the space between identity, mass media, and self-representation in the digital age. Known for his vibrant abstract paintings, his practice now incorporates figuration, blending personal experience with pop culture. Strassburger’s work reflects on how media and consumer culture shape the way we see ourselves and the world around us.
