Tue Greenfort (b. 1973 in Holbaek, Denmark) lives and works in Horbelev, Denmark.

Tue Greenfort’s interdisciplinary practice deals with issues such as the public and private realms, nature, and culture. Interweaving these subjects with the language of art he formulates a multi-faceted critique of today's dominant economical and scientific production. Intrigued by the dynamics in the natural world, Greenfort’s work often evolves around ecology and its history, including the environment, social relations, and human subjectivity.

The roots of his practice lie in the art movements of the 1960s and 1970s, such as Land Art and research-based artistic practice.

Greenfort has had solo presentations at, amongst others, Fondazione Eres, Venice (collateral event Biennale di Venezia) (2022), Eres Foundation, Munich (2021), GL Strand, Copenhagen (2020), Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen, DK (2017), The Museum of Contemporary Art, Oslo (with Toril Johannessen) (2016), Sculpture Center, New York (2013), Kunstraum Dornbirn, Austria (2012), Berlinische Galerie, Berlin (2012), South London Gallery, London (2011), the Kunstverein Braunschweig (2008) and Secession, Vienna (2007).

He has realized many public art projects including for the underground station Breslauer Platz in Cologne (2011) and Governor's Island in New York City (2009).

Greenfort participated in group exhibitions at institutions such as Fondation Villa Datris (2022), Gropius Bau, Berlin (2021), Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg (2021), Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst, Zurich (2020), Royal Academy of Arts, London (2019), MMK Museum für Moderne Kunst, Frankfurt/Main, (2018), Aros Kunstmuseum, Aarhus, DK (2017). In 2018 Tue Greenfort took part in the Taipei Biennial. In 2012 he was part of Documenta 13 and in 2007 he participated in Skulptur Projekte Münster.

Tue Greenfort received the New Carlsberg Foundation’s Artist Grant in 2022 and the Gasag Art Prize in 2012.
