Das Buch „Berlin - Die 80er & frühe Bilder“ dokumentiert in einer konzentrierten Auswahl hervorragender Bildbeispiele die Entwicklung von Middendorfs großformatiger Malerei: von den ersten Ausstellungen in der legendären Galerie am Berliner Moritzplatz Ende der 70er bis hin zu den internationalen Ausstellungen der 80er. Einige der Bilder werden in diesem Band erstmals publiziert. Abzüge aus Middendorfs Fotoarchiv ergänzen den Bildband und verdeutlichen die Atmosphäre und das urbane Berliner und New Yorker Umfeld, in dem Middendorfs Malerei entstand.
The book “Berlin - The 80s & Early Paintings” documents the development of Middendorf's large-format painting in a concentrated selection of outstanding examples: from the first exhibitions in the legendary gallery on Berlin's Moritzplatz at the end of the 70s to the international exhibitions of the 80s. Some of the pictures are published for the first time in this volume. Prints from Middendorf's photo archive complement the illustrated book and illustrate the atmosphere and the urban Berlin and New York environment in which Middendorf's paintings were created.
