The artist Helmut Middendorf (*1953) is one of the most renowned German painters. As a member of the Neue Wilde, he had a lasting influence on the art landscape in the 1980s. Whether in painting and drawing, photography or collage, the artist is always on the lookout for new ways of expression. Phases of abstract painting alternate with figurative picture series. Series in bright colors are followed by paintings with a limited palette. Helmut Middendorf has also lived and worked in Athens since the early 1990s. Since then, he has consistently and experimentally expanded his oeuvre with new groups of works. The current book shows a selection of Middendorf's diverse oeuvre. A large number of the works in the current book are being published for the first time.
